Arbitrage Betting
Arbitrage betting means buying both sides of the same bet at two different venues whose combined price is under 100%, so either outcome pays back more than the total staked — as long as both bets stand at the prices taken (books can limit, void, or move a price first).
Worked example
Say one venue prices the "yes" side at an implied 48% and a second venue prices the opposing "no" side at an implied 47%. The two sides add up to 95%, short of 100%, so the margin is (1 − 0.95) / 0.95 ≈ 5.3%, staked in proportion to each side so either outcome pays back the same amount.
Is this risk-free?
No. Both bets have to stand at the prices taken for the math to hold — a venue can limit, void or reprice a bet before both legs settle. See Responsible Gambling for help resources.
